The Apex of Automotive Power: Porsche Introduces Its Electrifying Masterpiece

Porsche is wrapping up its revamped 2025 Taycan lineup with a brand-new model called the Turbo GT. This isn’t just the most powerful version of their electric sedan; it’s the most powerful production Porsche ever made.

The new Turbo GT features a rear electric motor with a more potent pulse inverter, pushing its dual-motor all-wheel-drive system to produce 777 horsepower as standard. When you activate launch control, the output jumps to 1,019 horsepower, and it can even peak at 1,092 horsepower for up to two seconds. It boasts a maximum torque output of 988 pound-feet.

If you opt for the Weissach Package, you get additional aerodynamic features, like a fixed carbon fiber rear wing that supposedly adds 485 pounds of downforce. This package also makes the car lighter by cutting out the Bose audio system, the dashboard clock, the driver’s side charge port, and the trunk and floor mats. The Weissach Package versions also come with lighter carbon fiber rear seats and less insulation material.

Porsche claims the Taycan Turbo GT can go from zero to 60 mph in just 2.2 seconds, or 2.1 seconds if you opt for the Weissach Package. It can reach 124 mph from a standstill in 6.6 seconds, or 6.4 seconds with the Weissach Package. The top speed is 180 mph in standard form or 190 mph with the Weissach Package.

The car also has an Attack Mode that provides up to 160 horsepower in 10-second bursts. This builds on the existing push-to-pass function in other Taycan models, with the added feature of activating it using the right-hand shift paddle instead of the mode button on the steering wheel.

To ensure that the Taycan Turbo GT handles corners and stops as well as it accelerates, Porsche has equipped it with standard summer performance tires on 21-inch wheels designed to reduce weight and improve brake cooling. It also comes with specially tuned adaptive suspension and ceramic brakes.

The Turbo GT has already set several lap records. Driver Lars Kern set a record for production EVs at California’s Laguna Seca track with a lap time of 1:27.87. Kern also took the Turbo GT around Germany’s Nürburgring Nordschleife in 7:07.55, which was 26 seconds faster than his previous record in a Taycan Turbo S in 2022, setting new benchmarks for electric and four-door production cars.

The Taycan Turbo GT is expected to hit dealerships this summer, starting at $231,995. Porsche isn’t charging extra for the Weissach Package. Meanwhile, the rest of the 2025 Taycan lineup features subtle style updates, a larger battery pack, and a refreshed interface, among other changes.
