Tesla has just released its first promotional video for the Cybertruck after delivering the first units to buyers during a special event at Gigafactory Texas in Austin. The video, which can be found on YouTube and social media, boasts the tagline: “More utility than a truck, faster than a sports car.”
The footage starts with close-up shots of the all-electric Cybertruck and then transitions to the vehicle speeding across various dramatic terrains, highlighting its unique, angular design.
As expected, Elon Musk hosted the event. The Tesla CEO quickly amped up the excitement for the latest addition to the company’s lineup, telling the audience: “It’s very rare that a product comes along that is seemingly impossible, that experts said was impossible — and this is one of those times.” He went on to say, “I think it’s our best product, I think it’s the most unique thing on the road, and finally the future will look like the future.”
The base model of the Cybertruck, priced at $60,990, offers a range of 250 miles and can accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in 6.5 seconds. It has a top speed of 112 mph and a towing capacity of 7,500 pounds. The dual-motor all-wheel-drive version, costing $79,990, has a 340-mile range, can reach 60 mph in 4.1 seconds, and maintains a top speed of 112 mph with a towing capacity of 11,000 pounds. The top-tier tri-motor model, nicknamed the “Cyberbeast” and priced at $99,990, can hit 60 mph in just 2.6 seconds, offers a range of 320 miles, a top speed of 130 mph, and the same 11,000-pound towing capacity as the dual-motor version.
The delivery event marks a significant milestone for Tesla, with the Cybertruck first being unveiled in 2019. Various production issues have caused delays, and mass production isn’t expected to be underway until 2025.
