Rivian R1T Boasts Impressive 410-Mile Range with Advanced Dual-Motor System and Maximum Capacity Battery

The Rivian R1T electric pickup truck now offers an impressive 410 miles of range with its new Max Pack battery and Dual-Motor powertrain, according to the company. Rivian shared these range estimates for the Max Pack on X (formerly known as Twitter) on Wednesday, though the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) hasn’t confirmed them yet. The 410-mile range is for trucks with 21-inch wheels, while 22-inch wheels reduce this to 380 miles. If you opt for the 20-inch wheels with all-terrain tires, designed to enhance the R1T’s off-road capabilities, the range drops further to 355 miles.

Previously, the EPA provided official range ratings for some R1T Dual-Motor models equipped with the mid-sized Large Pack, which has a 135-kilowatt-hour capacity compared to the 180 kWh of the Max Pack. For these models, the range is 352 miles with 21-inch wheels and 341 miles with 22-inch wheels. Rivian also mentioned a 307-mile range for Large Pack models using 20-inch wheels and all-terrain tires on social media, but this information hadn’t been posted on the EPA’s website at the time of writing.

Rivian plans to release range estimates for Dual-Motor versions of the R1S SUV later on, but the powertrain specifications will be the same as those for the R1T. The standard Dual-Motor powertrain generates 533 horsepower and 610 pound-feet of torque, allowing the truck to accelerate from zero to 60 mph in 4.5 seconds. If you opt for a Dual-Motor Performance tune, the output rises to 665 hp and 829 lb-ft of torque, reducing the zero to 60 mph time to just 3.5 seconds.

The Quad-Motor powertrain, which was initially available with the R1T and R1S, offers 835 hp and 908 lb-ft of torque, shaving only half a second off the zero to 60 mph time compared to the Dual-Motor Performance. However, thanks to the Max Pack, the Dual-Motor R1T now boasts the longest range, with the Quad-Motor variant maxing out at 321 miles.

You can now place orders for the standard Dual-Motor and Dual-Motor Performance variants. The Max Pack option is also available for the R1T and will be added to the R1S configurator in the future. Dual-Motor R1T models start at $80,800 with the Large Pack and $90,800 with the Max Pack. The Dual-Motor Performance version is priced at $85,800 with the Large Pack and $95,800 with the Max Pack. Additionally, a smaller Standard Pack will be available for the Dual-Motor powertrain in both the R1T and R1S, but shipments for this variant aren’t expected until 2024.
