Observe Tesla’s Cybertruck as it Endures the Impact of a Compound Bow Arrow

Elon Musk made another appearance on The Joe Rogan Experience on Tuesday, trading the weed from his last visit for a cigar and a drink. During the 2-hour-40-minute chat, they covered various topics.

The conversation started with Rogan thanking Musk for arriving in the Cybertruck, which is set to be delivered to customers for the first time on November 30. Musk commented on its distinctive look, saying it “looks like computer graphics in reality.” Rogan agreed, calling it the “coolest-looking production car ever made.”

An exciting revelation from Musk was about a “beast mode version” of the Cybertruck, which can go from 0 to 60 mph in under three seconds. He mentioned that this mode comes with additional features that will be unveiled at the November launch event.

Musk also confirmed that the Cybertruck will have bulletproof steel panels and an option for bulletproof glass. However, due to the design and thickness of the glass, the side windows won’t be able to open. He explained that the panels had been tested with different firearms, including a Tommy gun, a 45-millimeter gun, and a 9-millimeter gun. This led Rogan to wonder if they could withstand a broadhead arrow from an 80-pound compound bow. Musk bet him a dollar it would, so they tested it out. Rogan shot the arrow from close range, causing only a small dent in the Cybertruck’s side, allowing Musk to claim his dollar.

When Rogan asked about the design’s toughness, Musk responded by saying trucks are supposed to be tough. This comment brings to mind the notorious hiccup during the Cybertruck’s 2019 unveiling, where a metal ball was supposed to demonstrate the glass’s durability but ended up shattering it. Musk later explained an earlier stress test had weakened the window.

Musk mentioned that Tesla aims to produce about 250,000 Cybertrucks a year, but they probably won’t reach that target before 2024. Tesla has taken around two million orders for the Cybertruck, each with a $100 refundable deposit, but the pricing for the vehicle has not yet been announced.
