Ever dreamed of relaxing in a Porsche seat but don’t want to splurge on an actual car? Porsche has collaborated with Recaro to create a gaming chair that brings that dream a bit closer. It’s still pricey though, with a limited edition chair priced at $2,500.
Porsche has the name recognition, but Recaro is the real mastermind here. This chair is a tweaked version of Recaro’s Exo Platinum, with some color changes and a prominent Porsche crest on the headrest.
Standing almost 5 feet tall at its tallest and weighing around 59 pounds, this chair has an adjustable backrest that reaches about 37 inches from the seat. On either side of the chair, there are two shifting wheels for more adjustments. It can support up to 330 pounds.
The color scheme, designed by Studio F.A. Porsche, is inspired by Porsche’s motorsport vehicles. It certainly looks like a gaming chair, with a black and red design. However, it adds a unique twist with a gray headrest, giving it a luxury car seat vibe.
One of its coolest features is the “5D armrests,” which are common in Recaro’s high-end gaming chairs. Each can rotate 360 degrees from the front pivot point. For comfort, the chair boasts an “ergonomically optimized seat shell made of high-quality upholstery foam and breathable fabrics,” and an anti-submarining seat ramp.
Is it worth $2,500? That’s up to you (no judgments here), but if you want one, you’ll need to act quickly. It’s a limited edition available only through Porsche’s website. At the very least, it sounds like a perfect (and luxurious) chair for playing Forza Horizon 5, don’t you think?
